Lavender Girl

Hello! Just a little post to share something I made this week.

This is Lavender Girl from Snowflower Diaries.
I made some changes, specially using DMC in lighter colors.

I also used light lavender beads. It's now displayed  in my cubby shelf.

I am still working on filling the shelf for spring.

So, I need to stitch some more ornaments... so hard to choose the patterns.

Thanks for stopping by!

New Cross Stitch Finishes!

Hello!

I have lots of sewing and other things to do, but lately I got the cross stitch bug.
Three finishes is a LOT for me. So, here they are!

Three spring finishes!  I love these designs.  I wanted to stitch something that could be on display all Spring long, not only during Easter. So, these are the ones I picked.

This cute gardening girl is a design by Perrette Samouiloff. You can find many of her designs here.
You buy the patterns to print from your computer. Very nice and  quite affordable.

These two ornaments are from JBW designs. I love her patterns! They are easy but so beautiful.
The French Country Lamb and French Country Rabbit were on my list for a while. I finally stitched them.

I had a hard time deciding how to finish the JBW designs ornaments. I left very little fabric around the rabbit, but I was able to finish it as a flat, like the lamb. It was my first time finishing with cord.
The little girl was easy. I wanted to finish her as a pillow with that fabric since the beginning.
I used 14 count aida for all three, because I have a lot of it, and also because my eyes are getting old :)

For now I am displaying them like this. I will probably change things around next week when I start decorating for Easter.
Thank you for stoping by, and have a great week!

Spring and a Small Finish.

Hello!

This is just my second post this year! I need do a little  better with my blog.
I have being busy.  We made some changes here at home, moving things around, and it took time.
We also had some unplanned happenings.   Brenda developed a crack on her tibia...  with this, more restrictions for her. She has to take it very easy.
Her leg is so fragile, the poor thing hardly do anything, and these things still happen. It is heartbreaking to see her going through all this. We did all we could to avoid a surgery.
After many prayers, things are improving.
The crack is healing, and she is getting a new brace. Now she uses it even for sleeping, until her doctor tells otherwise.

Even with all these tribulations, she is a happy child, so loving and good, and we do all we can to cheer her up. She got new books, that always keep her busy, and of course, the movie Frozen.
During this time she read Heidi and Pollyanna, among many others. Just lovely books for girls.
Now, a little stitching and some other spring things.
We are decorating for Spring and I made a little cross stitch picture.

The design is by Veronique Enginger, on 28 count linen.
I think she is adorable. I found this little green frame at Michael's that was just the right size.

Now she is one of the items in my cubby shelf.

I just love Spring and Easter decorating! I made this simple bunny silhouette other day.

Very simple, you just paint the bunny on burlap using a stencil, frame it, and glue a pompom for the tail.

And, speaking of bunnies, here is my new Peter Rabbit shadowbox.
I found it at Salvation Army for just over a dollar! Peter is my favorite bunny ever.

Other day I got this bag at the bookstore.  I know it's for kids, but I could not resist. I love it!
That's all for now. I have a pile of laundry waiting for me and I need to work a little on my garden.
It's sunny and we have a cold wind here in Southern California. We also had an earthquake last Friday, a 5.1
So, we are reorganizing our emergency stuff...scary!
Have a good day, and a Happy Spring!

Easter Bunting

Hello!
I am all ready for Easter, at least the decorations are ready.
I finally made  my version of Nana Company's Spring banner. Well, I think mine is more a mix of Amy's from Nana Company and Sandra's from Cherry Heart.
I used Amy's pattern for the ticker tape applique that you can get at her blog, but changed the style of the banners to be more like Sandra's.

Another change I made was to add a tulip, so I could have five different designs.
Outra modificacao que fiz foi adicionar uma tulipa, para ter cinco motivos diferentes.

Look how messy! Had to tie all the loose ends.  I made two bunnies and three chicks to be able to get favorites.
Olha que bagunca! Tive que amarrar todas as pontas de linha. Eu fiz tres coelhinhos e dois pintinhos para poder conseguir meus preferidos.

And here is the finished bunting (or banner).
I am very happy with how it come out, and it is a lovely addition to my Easter decor.
E aqui esta a banner terminada.
Eu estou muito feliz com o resultado e 'e uma linda adicao para minha decoracao de Pascoa.

Now, my cubby shelf all decorated for Easter. I was able to fill up all the twenty cubbies!
E agora minha prateleira cubby toda enfeitada para a Pascoa. Eu consegui encher todos os vinte espacos!

And one last thing. My fabric carrots I made following the tutorial from Clare's Craft Room.
E uma ultima coisa. Minhas cenouras de pano feitas seguindo o tutorial do blog Clare's Craft Room.

Happy Easter!
Feliz Pascoa!
Ana Paula.
